This page explains, in plain words, what changes for your data when you use Floraneo with a class. It complements the privacy policy.
Your Floraneo account (e-mail address, progress) is managed by Floraneo, as for any user.
When you join a class, your school decides to use Floraneo to follow its class's work. For that part, what your teacher sees, the school is the data controller and Floraneo acts on its behalf, as a processor, under a written agreement signed with it.
Only: your first name (your account's display name), the date you joined the class and the date of your last activity on Floraneo. They never see your e-mail address, your password or the detail of your answers, and there is no ranking between students. Only the teachers of your class see this information; your classmates see nothing about you.
In this first version, Floraneo classes are for adult students only: the teacher declares, when creating the class, that the students are adults. Floraneo does not ask for your date of birth.
Before you join a class, a screen reminds you exactly what your teacher will be able to see. To leave it: Profile → My class → Leave the class. Your teacher then stops seeing you immediately. They can also remove you from their class. Your progress belongs to you: it stays on your account when you leave.
For as long as your school's licence lasts, you have Floraneo Premium without paying, and no payment method is asked. When the licence ends, or if you leave the class, you go back to the free plan without losing any of your progress. A Premium subscription you took out yourself is never changed.
No advertising, no resale of data, no commercial profiling. Class information is used only by your teacher and you, and is shared with no one but the technical providers described below.
The database (accounts, progress, classes) is hosted by Supabase in Ireland, in the European Union. The code that processes it runs at Vercel, in Dublin (Ireland). Public pages and plant photos go through a delivery network and contain no class data.
Other providers handle specific functions: Resend (sending sign-in e-mails), Stripe (paying for individual subscriptions) and Cloudflare (plant photos). None of them receives your class or your results.
Leaving a class deletes your membership immediately. Deleting your account (Profile → Settings → “Delete my account”) erases everything, including your class memberships.
The school can also ask at any time for its classes' data to be erased, by writing to info@floraneo.com: we reply within 30 days.
You can ask for access to your data, its rectification, erasure or portability, restriction of its processing, or object to it, by writing to info@floraneo.com, or to your school's data protection officer. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can also complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr).
A data processing agreement (GDPR article 28) is signed before going live; it is provided on request at info@floraneo.com. Class data is accessible only to our server, to the teacher concerned for their class and to Floraneo's publisher (Thomas Poirson) for maintenance and support.
